The Haunted Mansion, one of the Southern Door County School District's largest annual fundraisers, located at Door County KOA, has been cancelled for 2020.
With concern for the safety and health of our community, mansion volunteers and visitors from throughout Wisconsin, the Haunted Mansion core leadership team has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season, which would have been our 15th anniversary!
Preparations begin months before the October season with planning and construction beginning as early as June. As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and so many uncertainties for what lies ahead in the coming months, the core team has determined that canceling this year’s haunt is necessary in order to maintain safety as our highest priority.
We know COVID-19 has impacted many events, and we understand that the cancelation of The Haunted Mansion will be disappointing for all who participate and the many student groups in the Southern Door County School District who benefit from the proceeds raised during the event.
We are grateful to all volunteers and visitors who have joined us over the years, as well as Door County KOA for their willingness to continue to be the host site for our attraction. Door County KOA will remain open for the October weekends. Halloween activities will take place at the campground and the staff is working to offer opportunities so campers can still support fundraising efforts of the Southern Door County School District.
