Elk Mound

Valley Pasture Farm

E7631 North County Road E, Elk Mound
715-256-7676

We regret to share that our annual Fall Fun will not be happening at Valley Pasture Farm in 2023.

Last year, your support was absolutely amazing as we cut back some of our offerings due to health issues and we really appreciated everyone that came out to visit and planned to continue to build back up. But, as we approached this fall, the health concerns are more manageable than last year, yet still exist and affect our everyday lives – brain injuries really stink.

Ultimately, it has turned our family business into something that could only be done by part of the family and with many added stressors. For our family’s sake, we have made the tough decision to not continue with the Fall Fun activities on our farm.

Some of the kids are still growing plenty of pumpkins and plan to sell them at the end of the driveway. We will also continue to raise animals for meat and grow sweet corn to supply our community with nourishing food from our farm and at the Menomonie Farmer’s Market.

We truly feel blessed to have been able to welcome your families to the farm for the last 8 years. Every fall, we looked forward to your visits and loved seeing the excitement as you explored the acres of activities. It was an honor to be a part of your fall traditions and we will miss it immensely.

Thank you for everything, especially the wonderful memories.

Homemade country cooking is the hallmark of Whispering Orchards Cafe. Enjoy the care and hospitality of our third generation farm family. Take home fresh baked pies, honey, jam, and pure Maple syrup. Shop for country crafts and see the peacocks that wander our yard.

Our cafe menu features homemade bread and jams. Bacon, ham, and sausage are sourced from local markets. Sausage links are filled with pork and our own honey-sweetened apple sauce. Bacon and ham are hardwood smoked.

Come for one of the HEARTY FARMER breakfasts we call THE GRAIN SHOCKER. You’ll see a plate loaded with Raspberry French Toast, Apple French Toast, Blueberry French Toast, and Apple Pocket French Toast along with bacon, ham, or sausage, and hash browns, American fries, or herbed potato. Breakfast is important for a day of hard work on the farm.

Apple Harvest starts in September and continues through December. When Chuck’s grandparents, Orrin and Laura Berge planted the first apple trees over 100 years ago, little did they know their farm would grow to become the Whispering Orchards of today with many varieties like our Honey Crisp. We started selling apples out of our garage but our dreams were bigger. We planted more trees, opened the Cafe, and added a cider press.
