There are four Coach/Caboose departures per day, both Saturday and Sunday. Each departure travels the full 7-mile round-trip route and is scheduled to last 55-minutes. Depending on crowd size, trip times may be slightly longer in order to allow passengers adequate time to purchase pumpkins.

A Harvest Time Tradition
Finding your Halloween pumpkin is more fun at Mid-Continent Railway Museum. Climb aboard the Pumpkin Special and make your way to Quartzite Lake where pumpkins brought to the train from a local farmer await your arrival. Pick out your pumpkin(s) of choice and bring your newly acquired “cargo” aboard with you for the return trip to North Freedom.

Note: A wheelchair lift providing handicap accessibility to the train is located at the North Freedom depot (origin station) but is not available at Quartzite Lake (end of line) where the pumpkins are located, preventing the alighting of handicapped passengers.

Advance ticket sales are subject to a convenience fee.
The purchase of pumpkins is optional. Pumpkins are made available via an independent local vendor and are not included in the ticket price. Pumpkin sales are cash-only.
