Cold Water Canyon was once the jewel of the Dells Boat Tours shorelandings — until it was abruptly abandoned in 1950. No reason was given — but there were rumors, of strange lights, weird sounds, and missing passengers. It was said the boat pilot on that last fateful trip into the canyon kept a record of what happened, but it was lost, along with everyone involved, in the long years since
Today, those stories are regarded as nothing more than Dells legend, built up and exaggerated over time. And through the years, Cold Water Canyon has remained undisturbed, its scenic wonders hidden away — until now. Dells Boat Tours is reopening the shorelanding, and you’ll be among the very first to see it!
As night falls on the Wisconsin River, you’ll board a boat and head up-river, enjoying a special after-dark tour as you cruise along the towering sandstone cliffs. And then, the highlight of your adventure: Cold Water Canyon! You’ll dock, disembark and continue the excursion on-foot, following a path that winds through field, and forest, and deep into the canyon itself.
It’s sure to be a journey you’ll never forget . . .
