We had a great time at this haunt! It was completely different than last year. There were a few rooms that were incredibly unique and interesting that were really enjoyed. I would suggest going early in the evening to avoid a wait since the later it gets the longer the line is. Definitely a good house to check out, though.

Signage / Visibility / Location

Very easy to find using GPS. It's right on the main street in Hubertus. Plenty of signage and parking available.

Wait Area / Line Entertainment

The wait area is in the school cafeteria so it's nice and warm (yay!) and they offer concessions which is convenient. We got there about 9:30 pm and the wait was just over an hour and a half. There were a few actors walking around in costume, but otherwise nothing creepy or "setting the mood" while we waited.

Actors' Performance

Overall I thought most of them did a good job. A few actors had a hard time remembering lines but others had a good time with improvising and interacting with our group, which I liked.

Sets Scenes / Props / FX

Most of the rooms were really well done - very creepy! I really liked that they used more interaction with actors and less animatronic scares. They use more masks than they do makeup, but it still worked well. My favorite room was definitely the autopsy room - the set and f/x in that room were incredible.

Length

It took roughly 20 minutes to make it through the entire haunt. It seemed like it took even longer because they stop you in each room to talk to you and interact instead of just shuffling you through quickly.

Crowd Control

We were the first group through after a quick safety check, so there wasn't anyone in front of us. The group behind us caught up to us once, but one of the actors left the room and held them back so it seemed to work pretty well. There was a little difficulty with the group size. They put you through in groups of 8 and it seemed a little big because we were constantly waiting for everyone to fit into the rooms, so that was a little tough.

Most Memorable Moment

Between the autopsy room and the tunnel. Everyone I was with had a really tough time walking through the tunnel without falling over. I always love those. Both rooms were great!

Summary

Definitely a must see. I suggest for everyone 12+ (unless you scare easily... then maybe a little older). It was a lot of fun!

Review

The Hubertus House of Horror makes use of an old house on the grounds of a school to produce its haunts.

Because it is a house versus a warehouse, it has its own, distinctive charm and Halloween mystique.

The home has undergone significant updating since last year, which is always appreciated.

This year's house begins with a bus ride and progresses through sets where you will meet Little Red Riding Hood, rednecks and zombies, a monster factory and several other themed rooms.

You will also get to experience a different twist on what I call a "squeeze maze".

Signage / Visibility / Location

The house is located in the town of Hubertus and once in the area of it, there is ample signage to find your way.

In addition, there are restaurants very near the attraction in the event you should want to have dinner before or after your trip.

Wait Area / Line Entertainment

Hubertus supplies its guests with ample parking, restroom facilities and a covered waiting area in the school gym. There is also a concession stand.

Actors' Performance

Hubertus' actors routinely give good performances and this year is no exception. The staff show investment in their roles and in trying to startle their customers.

Staff interact with the guests and there is some dialogue that is clever.

Sets Scenes / Props / FX

Much effort was put forth in coming up with new themes and decor this year. Make up was quite good. Be sure to try to appreciate the work of their make up artists, if feasible during your trip.

Length

It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete the house.

Crowd Control

Groups of about 6 are let into the house at regular intervals. Crowd control is a non issue and staff route people through the home efficiently.

Most Memorable Moment

On your journey, you will have an interesting elevator ride as well as an interesting, interactive scene looking out of a window.

Summary

The staff at the Hubertus House always put forth a good production. There is care put into the development of the home and that is apparent. Hubertus continues to be a recommended locale for Halloween scares. As has been mentioned, Hubertus is not a particularly fearsome attraction, it is still a fun stop.

Review

If you enjoy participating in your haunted adventures and enjoy being ghoulishly entertained chances are you'll like this year's Hubertus House of Horror.

This haunt features a mix of young (some very young) and adult actors in a variety of skit orientated rooms as well as some descent special effects.  Quite a few of the effects were carry overs from prior years but they were still executed well enough to entertain and in some cases even make you jump.

I was grouped with several haunt goers that were aged between 17-24.  While everyone in my group agreed that they enjoyed their tour of the Hubertus House nobody admitted to being particularly scared or surprised enough to jump at any point.  ...although one couple did admit to clunking heads pretty hard in one of the dark mazes so perhaps they may suffering from a slight case of amnesia.

Personally I really enjoyed their elevator and Vortex rooms...which by the way may be the best executed vortex in the state.  I also enjoyed participating in the skit orientated rooms.  Unfortunately, like my fellow haunt goers I never experienced anything that made me jump during my tour nor did I particularly enjoy the pitch black mazes.

Signage / Visibility / Location

This may not be the easiest haunt to find but if you're on the right road you really can't miss it. Also, if you come across a mass of parked cars in what feels like the middle of nowhere you've probably found the right place

Wait Area / Line Entertainment

One of the best wait areas around! The Hubertus House leverages a school gymnasium to keep you warm, well fed and entertained while you wait. The concession stand was well stocked with sweets, popcorn, drinks and even burgers. Costumed actors also popped in occasionally to heighten your anticipation of what was to come

Actors' Performance

A good mix of adult and young actors delivered entertaining performances. None of them totally freaked me out but they were still very entertaining. A few of them were good at adlibbing and allowed you to interact with them

Sets Scenes / Props / FX

Some really unique sets and a few outstanding special effects.  Hubertus House haunt goers from prior year's though may not be as dazzled as new thrill seekers.

Length

Approximately 15-20 minutes. Once again I was so disorientated after the Vortex I completely forgot to stop my watch until I had regained my balance in the parking lot

Crowd Control

No problems with crowds this year. We purchased tickets earlier in the evening and then came back after checking out a few of the other haunts in the area. We were allowed to jump in line immediately as our ticket numbers had already been called.

Most Memorable Moment

The elevator ride and the room that follows it....I won't give it away but the sequence of these rooms was genius!

Summary

Perhaps not the scariest haunted house around but a very solid performer year after year.  A few creative new sets and entertaining effects make this a fun haunt to attend.

this haunt is great. some of the 'rooms' were a bit predictable, and others were amazing. "Love the elevator!'
I drove about am hour with friends to this haunt. We visit this one every year. It is a fundraiser for the school that the haunted house is run by. Actors could be scarier, butI am a person that likes to be scared as well as entertained. This haunt is a must see, it is great.
