As summer begins to make its exit, our magnificent pumpkins are growing vigorously and we are excited for a new season here at Ebert’s Greenhouse Village! Many of us look forward to autumn, and soon we’ll be greeted by delightful scarecrows scattered about the grounds, a beautiful display of mums, pansies, fountain grass and Mother Nature’s symphony of color that surrounds us here in the Ixonia countryside.

Spirited planning and preparation for our fall festival this year is under way, and we look forward to seeing the happy, smiling faces of the families and friends who have made a trip to Ebert’s in the fall tradition! School children will be excited to hear the story, “Otis and the Scarecrow” in our unique and enchanting Story Theatre on their field trip, take a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch to choose the “perfect” little pumpkin!

If fall is your favorite time of year, don’t miss the fresh and cheerful feeling that so many come back to Ebert’s for year after year!

14000 75th Street, Bristol

The Thompson family has been growing strawberries in Kenosha County for over 70 years. We have been primarily a "Pick-Your-Own" farm for 50 years. Scott Thompson is the 4th generation of Thompson's to grow strawberries. During the peak of the "Pick-Your-Own," we grew 150 acres of strawberries. Our farm is located just east of the The Club at Strawberry Creek Golf Course.

We currently farm about 100 acres and will be picking 20 acres of strawberries this year. Although we have downsized, we still have plenty of strawberries to meet the demand. The season usually starts about mid-June and usually we pick at least through July 4th. Weather makes a big difference in the starting date for picking and availability of berries during the season. We encourage customers to call for our "Daily Picking" information before they come to the farm.

Pumpkins are sold by the car load or individually based on size.

- Strawberries: Mid June to early July
- Raspberries: Late August into October
- Pumpkins: Late September and October

Our cafe menu features homemade bread and jams. Bacon, ham, and sausage are sourced from local markets. Sausage links are filled with pork and our own honey-sweetened apple sauce. Bacon and ham are hardwood smoked.

Come for one of the HEARTY FARMER breakfasts we call THE GRAIN SHOCKER. You’ll see a plate loaded with Raspberry French Toast, Apple French Toast, Blueberry French Toast, and Apple Pocket French Toast along with bacon, ham, or sausage, and hash browns, American fries, or herbed potato. Breakfast is important for a day of hard work on the farm.

Apple Harvest starts in September and continues through December. When Chuck’s grandparents, Orrin and Laura Berge planted the first apple trees over 100 years ago, little did they know their farm would grow to become the Whispering Orchards of today with many varieties like our Honey Crisp. We started selling apples out of our garage but our dreams were bigger. We planted more trees, opened the Cafe, and added a cider press.
