I was very pleased with this haunted house. I attended other haunted houses this year, however none were as good as this one. The length is great. You get scared a lot. For only 15 dollars, this is a great deal.

Summary

Wonderful haunted house. Totally worth the 15 dollars.

The day I went was quite busy. I thought I would be bored by the wait, but they have videos playing on a big movie screen and a DJ in a tent which made the time fly by. Also there were dancers that put on a awesome show with a Michael Jackson tribute. The haunted house had me jumping, flinching, and screaming. I think Ill go again just to see all of the creepy, scary stuff I missed the first time

First off - loved the Michael Jackson videos to keep you entertained. I was busting moves out all night there.

In the house, I loved the ideas that went into the rooms. The maze and the balloon areas (you'll know when you go through) were some of my faves.. And the details in the rooms were fantastic.

However, some sides I didn't like was that almost in every other room the actors yelled at you to "get out"! It gets repetitive and not good haunted house etiquette. If I'm a zombie and want to eat your brains, I will not tell you to "get out"! And the fact that a lot of the actors were kids. Not a problem for some themed to say "I'm going to get you next" is a little hard to believe. :)

Summary

Overall, I enjoyed this haunt! There were rooms that scared me, others that made me want to dance a step or two, and others that I laughed at.

Good haunt and good details!

Hauntfest is a must-go every year. Its different every year. Different rooms different themes. I love what they did with the skull in the beginning to match the theme. The Theme is Neverland but there really isn't much at all that has to do with Michael Jackson in the house at all. The website has a bunch of different characters on it and tells how they associate with Neverland so thats a plus. Anyways some rooms were really cool. I really like the big spinning room it makes you feel like your spinning and about to fall over. another room i enjoyed was the movie room. They play Michael Jackson's Ghosts and there are couches... Beware dont try to sit on them the ghouls get pretty cranky and come at you like banshees and take your souls for all eternity! Vampires and Zombies run wild through the haunt your life is threatened in every room! Enter at your own risk.

Summary

This haunt was amazing! The actors did an awesome job. they had us running through the rooms. we barely got a chance to see what the rooms looked like. Hauntfest really knows how to put on a good show. It is a must-go. The best place to get your scare on this fall.

Overall it was a great haunt provided on the State Fair grounds. I have never been to this one and I enjoyed my experience a great deal. Of course, it always helps when you're with a group of guys who scream at everything. The Neverland theme of the haunt didn't really make much sense. They play thriller on a big screen in the waiting area, but otherwise, not much Michael Jackson stuff. It was a well put-on haunt that has some excellent rooms, just don't expect much Neverland theming.

Signage / Visibility / Location

Very easy to find - it's located at State Fair Park. Signage is clearly posted.

Wait Area / Line Entertainment

Unfortunately since this is such an urban area, there is little in the way of atmosphere while you're waiting. We arrived around 11:00 and we were early in October so our wait was no longer than 20 minutes (thank goodness, it was freezing outside!). There were a few actors in costume walking around trying to scare people.

Actors' Performance

I enjoyed a good number of the actors' performances. They did a great job of scaring us. Although, they did rely on the boo factor - jumping out right in front of you to scare you.

Sets Scenes / Props / FX

All in all, I think that they did a great job of putting this house together. I think my favorite room was probably the maze... it's so disorienting!

Length

I never really checked my watch to see how long it was - but I was happy with the length of this haunt. I'd say roughly 20 minutes or so. The nice thing is that there's no "down time." Your senses are constantly being teased and tormented in this house. There is constant movement and terrorization. It's great!

Crowd Control

The crowd was quite small while we were there so we never ran into anyone else - great job!

Most Memorable Moment

This doesn't have much to do with the house itself, however, I went in with a group of seven... when we walked out... we were only six. We lost one of our friends in the house somehow and had to wait about 15 minutes for him to come out all by himself. I can't imagine - how terrifying!

Summary

Good job Hauntfest - it was a nice first time visit for me!

The place is Huge, Every room looked GREAT, Scares around every corner--hint--if you want them to pick on someone, be sure they over hear you say that persons name!!
The Micheal Jackson video and the dancers were great entertainment while in line. The music inside was great. No complaints!!

been there in the past, thought it was pretty good. This year not so much.
The actors didn't really act, they just screamed really loud in your face which got annoying after awhile. It seemed like a repeat from last year, not too much different. Got a little pissed having to pay the extra 5 bucks for parking....they shoud have advertised that ahead of time. All in all a so so haunted house. I go to a bunch every year and the one that stands out way better then all the rest is still the one at waukesha expo. Even doing it twice the second time was just as good as the first!!!

Summary

Was better last year, kinda boring and the same this year. Not sure where the Michael Jackson tribute was, only saw a mask and heard the music once. I didnt care, but if someone is a real fan they will be real disppointed. Maybe if this is the only one someone has been to, they might think its good. But if you have been to a bunch like "Wi Feargrounds" or ""terror on rural" in Hartford or some of the other big ones this ones not as good as those. Sorry Hauntfest you gotta step it up a little if you want to charge the big bucks.

They change it a bit every year which is good. They keep some same stuff the like vortex room which is always awesome.Pleanty of gore and scary psychos to fill up the house. No one touches you on purpose, but a ghoul did fall onto me on the elevator, when it shook to a stop.Lol.Thought there would be a more M.J. theme, but that's cool that there wasn't.We have had the pleasure everytime we went,to be in really cool and friendly groups of people. That makes or breaks the experience.Wish we walked a bit slower though, lots to see at every turn.I prefer haunted houses in the "Boonies",but for being so close, you can't go wrong!

Summary

We went early in the season,so there was absolutley NO wait.Which kinda sucked because they had a big movie screen playing Michael Jackson Videos, and we saw the best one;Thriller!!There is a waiting tent with dance music for the youngsters, and ghouls and creatures walking around. You are never bored. So we wouldn't mind the wait.AND I wore my free pumpkin spiced bracelet from there all week.Yummy!

Although the theme is Neverland, don't expect MJ to make too many appearances at Hauntfest. It is unfortunate because there are some truly terrifying scenes that could have been created from his life.
Push that disappointment aside and enjoy the haunted house for what it is: a series of well done rooms meant to scare and entertain you. What you get is a group of themes that make no sense at all when put together (a disembodied robot Micheal Jackson skull as an example). Why are you
getting into an elevator or traveling through a swamp? Who cares, it's fun!

Signage / Visibility / Location

Hauntfest is located on the State Fair grounds just south of I-94. No, it is not inside the big pumpkin. Keep driving down 84th St. until you see flashing lights and signs. Street parking is available in the adjacent neighborhood, or you can pay to park in the secure lot operated by State Fair personnel.

Wait Area / Line Entertainment

We got in right away but the wait area seemed well equipped to handle crowds. Large screens pay tribute to the best videos from the King of Pop and there is a tent equipped with lights and a DJ booth ready to break out a dance party when groups get bigger/wetter. Several ghouls trolled those waiting looking for easy marks to scare.

Actors' Performance

The monsters inhabiting Hauntfest use a number of different tactics to terrorize their victims. Some are quiet and creepy while others will scream your brain fuzzy. It's not overdone, but be prepared to leave with your ears ringing. Scares come from above and below with unsettling dialogue breaking up the usual in-your-face surprises. No particular performances stood out, but the actors were at least average.

Sets Scenes / Props / FX

Almost all actors had great makeup and unique costumes. Try to notice some of those details before running out of a room. The different scenes try to assault all of your senses during a visit. You will be spun around, lost, disoriented, blinded, squeezed and probably end up on your hands and knees at some point. Trust me; it's better than it sounds. Again, no particular room was groundbreaking but all were well done.

Length

I forgot to check, but it was longer than expected. The entertainment is sustained throughout because there is no wasted space or empty hallways. Most guests went as groups of two, but later in the season expect group size and pacing to increase.

Most Memorable Moment

We briefly ran into the man in charge of Hauntfest who was sporting fangs and creepy contacts. He wasn't doing it to scare guests or staff a particular room. Apparently it pumps him up and helps him get into the spirit of Hauntfest. Those are the types of people you want running a haunted house.

Summary

A "standard" haunted house done really well. After visiting multiple years, it seems that Hauntfest can be a schizophrenic production that has good years and bad years. Luckily, this is a good year.

This has been the best haunt i have been to so far. I have more to see. It was nice to see someone actually supporting mj. I liked how the rooms were well detailed and there was alot more to go through this year.
my favorite room was the one with neon paint on the walls and floor. I got scared a few times but i have been going to haunts every year for about 7 years. so im used to it. but dont let that prevent you from coming because i guarantee you will get frightend because i did a couple of times.
this is a must do event.

Summary

although the parking and admission is quite pricy it is well worth 20 dollars all together.

This was one of the best haunted houses I have been to in years (and I have been to a lot.) I went with my 15 year old daughter and her 15 year old friend (who had never been to a haunted house in her life.) My daughter and I both agreed that it was the best haunted house we have been to. Unfortunately (or fortunately) we had to work hard to keep the friend from exiting the haunted house early. She was TERRIFIED and had a look of genuine terror on her face the whole time! The actors were wonderful, and the many different scenes were well done. It was not one of those short 10 minute haunted houses, we were in there for 20 minutes. There were pitch black, claustrophobic parts (including 1 crawling part,) and a vortex that physically affected us all. We were going to go to another haunted house that night, but decided that the friend had been too traumatized by this one! Next weekend!

Summary

Well worth the $15. Plan on parking on the street or paying $5 to park. :(
Bring cash (or a high-fee paying debit card!) as they do not accept charge cards! The parking and cash requirement put me in a bad mood before I even went in--but they redeemed themselves! Why are the websites not forthcoming about these details?? It really starts you off on a bad note!

UUUGGGG, I was really dissappointed this year. First of all I dont know what all the "Michael Jackson and Thriller" talk is because there was NOTHING of what they are advertising. The scull at the beginning sings a little and then some kid was hanging his head over the railing. That was it! It was alittle better this year as in they didnt make us carry flash lights like last year but it was soooo loud (as in annoying not good loud) and the monsters just "yelled" at you and if your good at what you do you dont need to do that. There were 6 of us in a group and the first 2 people got a few scares but then that was it. They made no effort for the rest of the group. I felt cheated. Then at the end the feature that they had has worked in the past because they did it another way, well this year it had no effect accept for affecting your hearing. LITTERALLY! we thought they blew our eardrums. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 6.

Summary

If money is an issue spend it at Waukesha, we did them and they were AWESOME. Plus dont forget West Allis CHARGES YOU FOR PARKING!!!!! I WAS SOOOOO MAD. I really felt like I wasted my money that night.
