Halloween...wang in April

There are now less than 200 days until Halloween, and less than 10 days until Hallowang. Hallow what? Hallowang was founded in April 2006 on the principle that Halloween is so much fun, it should be twice a year. The main difference between Halloween and Hallowang? Scariness. Hallowang is meant for the lighter side of Halloween like a human La-Z-Boy or characters from Scooby Doo. You won't find any vampires here.

The fun starts next Saturday, April 24 at 8pm at 5th Ward Pub with the "Toss Across" Tourney Partner event. At 9:30pm stop by Walker's Pint for Elbow Quarter-Catching Trick Thing, and finally stop by Fat Daddy's at 11pm for the Brawn-Brains Olympics Partner event.

They will also be having a peoples choice costume contest. Cast your ballot for the 2010 Hallowang world co-champions at 8:30pm at the 5th Ward Pub, 10:00pm at Walker's Pint and 11:30pm at Fat Daddy's. The categories are 1) Famous People (dead or alive), 2) Stereotypes & Occupations, 3) Fictional Characters (traditional or original), 4) Non-Human, 5) Team and 6) Spectacular.

Check out their site for more information on this new zangy holiday.

And for those of you who prefer to celebrate the scary side of Halloween, the Dominion of Terror in Sheboygan, will be open from 7-10pm on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. The Dominion of Terror always puts on a good show, so if you missed it in October or just want to get a taste of Halloween, be sure to check them out!

The scares continue on April 30th with the new A Nightmare on Elm Street. Plan on seeing it? Let us know what you think!
