Halloween Hodgepodge

Overview - Haunted High

Haunted High
Attended on Saturday, October 1st

We arrived near closing time and at the beginning of the season so we didn’t we have to wait in line long. Haunted High takes place in an actual abandoned high school.  Their ticket area is located in the gym and is furnished with teacher’s desks skull lamps. The waiting line is also in the gym located behind a divider curtain. They show movie clips on two walls, so waiting in line doesn’t seem to take as long. There are also concessions that are available to purchase before you get into line.

Once it was our turn we got into another line with the group we were going in with. The school bell rang and it was our turn to enter the haunt. We started out by going down some stairs in a well-lit hallway (for safety) and opened the door to the dimly lit locker room. One of the unique scares we saw was with a pile of gym clothes on the floor…

One of the dark hallways had a unique moving floor which I loved and don’t remember from the previous year.  Some of the acting could have been improved (of course we were there opening weekend and late at night), such as the nurse. She just stood there looking at her patient.

Unfortunately the main thing that stands out to me about the haunt was something Haunted High couldn’t do much to prevent. We ended up catching up to a group of photo happy drunks who used the actors as their play toys. Not cool.

Luckily the ending in the theater helped bring things back on track. All I can say is, I wasn’t expecting it at all and wished we could have seen the whole show. As we left, we received our diplomas and headed outside. We thought we were safe, but there was one more scare left! Great ending!

I’ve attended this haunt every year since they opened and can say they improve every year. Keep it up!
