Congrats to all of the haunted attractions who received votes in our 2013 Visitors Choice Awards. Winners were chosen by registered HauntedWisconsin.com visitors. Each visitor was able to vote for as many events as desired in each category. Duplicate votes by visitors for the same event in the same category were automatically discarded. Many events recieved votes but only the top five are shown (sometimes more in the case of a tie). Today is your last opportunity to celebrate the Halloween season. Even though it may seem odd with Christmas music already playing on at least one Milwaukee area radio station (too early!) and Christmas trees and decorations already in stores (what about Thanksgiving?), you can still fit in some blood curdling screams. 33 haunted attractions will be open tonight! Today and tomorrow are your LAST CHANCES to visit The Haunted Barn in Stoughton. After this weekend they close their doors for good. This is their 10th year and they're going out with a bang! If you want an hour of indoor and outdoor scary fun, then be sure to make your way out there!
This Friday & Saturday, visitors to Adrenaline at the Burial Chamber Haunted House Complex in Neenah will need to make their way through the maze of monsters with only the light of one LED candle. On Saturday, Abandoned Haunted House Complex in Mt. Pleasant will be having a blackout night. You'll have to make your way through the monster filled complex with just the light of a glowstick. Are you brave enough to make it through?
Don't forget, one of the few Halloween cartoons shown on network TV will be on tonight. "It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", will be on ABC TONGIHT at 7pm CT followed by “You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown".

I love listening to my Halloween playlist while working on the site. My playlist tends to be a bit more "classic" with just about all of the songs being from the 1980's or earlier and include songs like "Monster Mash", "Don't Fear the Reaper", "Thriller" and "Headless Horseman." Andy and I attended Burial Chamber Haunted House Complex in Neenah on October 11 during their 12th haunt season. Burial Chamber has three separate and unique haunted attractions, so you can choose one or visit all three for the ultimate night of scares. This is very popular haunt, so be prepared to wait in line for a while. Luckily they have some yummy snacks available and videos playing on screens, so the wait doesn't feel quite so long. Andy and I attended Terror on Rural Street on October 5 during their 17th haunt season. This may be a charity haunt, but it certainly looks and feels very professional with some fantastic sets and effects as well as a nice warm waiting area. Andy and I attended Abandoned Haunted House Complex in Mount Pleasant on October 4 during their second haunt season. They have two incredible indoor haunts with amazing details and actors. Andy and I attended The Haunted Barn in Stoughton for the opening weekend of their 10th and final season. They've worked hard to make sure their final season is a memorable one. General admission is just $18.00 and is well worth it! They've greatly expanded the outdoor portion of the haunt, so don't expect a short walk through! Stop out at your local food retailer and you'll be able to try a variety of pumpkin flavored treats. Like to get scared at haunted attractions? You won't have to wait long , the first one opens in just 12 days!

The living dead will roam the halls of UW-Richland's Coppertop Theatre this fall. Auditons for a play based on the 1968 classic horror film "Night of the Living Dead" will be held on Wednesday, September 4 & Thursday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the UW-Richland Coppertop Theatre, located at 1200 Highway 14 West in Richland Center. As a kid, I knew once the state fair was over, school wasn't far behind. This is still true today but instead of school my focus is on Halloween. While it may seem early, some stores have already stocked their shelves with Halloween decor and candy. Wisconsin has been filled with zombies this spring. We've had zombies walking, going to pubs and chasing runners through mud and slime.
