Windigo Fest Haunts Only Costume Competition

HauntedWisconsin.com and Windigo Fest are teaming up this year to bring you the first annual costume competition for Haunts only. Whether you have a professional haunted house or a yard haunt this competition is for you!

The judging will be at Windigo Fest on Sunday October 7th at 1:00pm on the 700 block of Franklin Street in Historical downtown Manitowoc. Showcase your most creative character, whether it be a creature that lurks in your haunt or a creation solely for the competition, to demonstrate the horrific talent your team emits every season!

The winner of the competition will be featured on hauntedwisconsin.com and windigofest.com for the 2019 Halloween season. Your haunt will receive extensive publicity including a full exclusive Windigo Fest page dedicated to your winning character with a link to your website. A complimentary booth at Windigo Fest 2019 will also be available to you to promote your haunt and sell your merchandise. Your haunt will take home a plaque to display and major bragging rights for the remainder of this season and next. This package is worth over $3000.

Competitors will be judged on creativity, originality, and execution.

Windigo Fest added Sunday this year so those devoted to a haunt can still enjoy the Halloween hoopla the event has to offer. Come on down, enter your character, and promote your haunt! The festivities on Sunday afternoon include vendors, bands, sideshow performances, the dark art gallery, carnival games, and appearances by Butch Patrick who played Eddie Munster on the hit TV show and his tribute cars. In the main tent there will be Extreme Midget Wrestling at 3pm and tickets for this are on sale now! Check out hauntedwisconsin.com and windigofest.com and join in the terror!!!!!

PLEASE NOTE:
All costumes, props, and weapons must adhere to local, state and federal laws and policies. No live steel, no functioning or previously functioning projectile weapons, no fire, smoke and/or pyrotechnics must be approved. If you have special requests or need special permission for anything out of the ordinary or anything listed above, please send your written request to [email protected].

No indecent exposure or nudity. No profanity or lewd behavior allowed. Any contestant who violates this rule will immediately be removed from the grounds and be disqualified from the contest.

The judges’ decisions are final.

The Windigo Society management reserves the right to modify, update, or amend these rules at any time.

The Windigo Society & Haunted Wisconsin may record or photograph contest entries at its discretion. Entry into this contest constitutes an agreement by the entrants to allow Haunted Wisconsin, Windigo Fest, and the Windigo Society to use their likeness or image in any current or future advertisement, promotion, or product.
