House on Haunted Hill is closing their doors for good

Due to the decline of the Wyocena Fire Department's membership and available number of volunteers, the House on Haunted Hill in Rio, Wis. is calling it quits after 12 years in operation.

Small start

"My dad (Ray Lavallee) had many Halloween items at his home that he would display but no one came to trick or treat because of his location", explains event operator Tara Runaas. "A friend of mine and I were joking with him one day that the Fire Department should start a fundraiser by having people come see all of his things."

Eventually the yard display became a haunted trail through the woods and was fun for all ages as Andy & I were able to experience a few years ago. At the end of the trail there were snacks and drinks available in the garage to help warm you up.

Opportunity to buy

For those of you looking to add some items to your Halloween collection, this is the pefect opportunity. Items available to purchase include  mannequins, animated ghouls, cemetery fencing and entrance, grave stones, guillotine, stockade, electric chair, fog machines, lighting, stereos, extension cords, body parts, small props, hanging props, costumes, masks and much more. If you'd like more information or would like to stop by and see what they have, contact Ray Lavalle at 608-429-4508.
