Splatterhaus

Use their website directions, keep an eye for signs and you'll be alright

Lots of great metal music, but could have used some Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails in the mix.

Actors' Performance

Great scares every time. Wish there was more makeup work done for costumes more than masks.

Summary

I thought this was excellently well-done. Creative and kept you guessing. Continues to be my top favorite for 2nd year in a row.

Easily found following directions off of website. Signage on the way there could have been larger, but we found it!

Warning: There were TONS of kids here.

Actors' Performance

There was a little too much screaming on behalf of the actors at this haunt. Some is alright, but gets old quickly when they are screaming right in your ears constantly. The majority of the actors are very young which can affect convincibility as well.

14+

Summary

The decor and design of this haunt was spectacular--very impressive in layout and detail. The look and feel is what I've always expected a haunted house to be.

Mars Haunted House

Orange bucket stantions on the sidewalk easily identified where to go once you arrive at 8th & Mitchell.

Went quickly.

Very creative and entertainment and quite a few surprises.

Summary

Cost definitely justifies the scare factor.

Hartford Jaycees Haunted House

I like the feel of this house since it's actually a house--has a real unique feel to it.

This place has become a legend in it's time--great job once again this year. They've changed a lot around, but almost wish they could get some brand new scenery.

Hubertus House of Horror

Nice work, but almost too accomodating for a haunted house at times.

Summary

Best of use of 3D effects we've ever seen--wish we could go through that again! A handful of suspenseful surprises here and there--definitely a good haunting tour, but at times staff were almost too friendly and helpful.

Sweet

Summary

One of the best we've ever seen. Very creative in its use of horror re-enactments, active in it's use of crawl spaces, slides & staircases and inventive use of lighting and effects. Well worth the long drive (although no long line made the trip worth it as well).
